App privacy policy

Your scans never leave your phone.

For the VeriWalk iOS app. Effective July 5, 2026.

This policy covers the VeriWalk iOS app. In plain terms: the app keeps everything on your device, and the developer collects nothing about you or your work. If you're looking for how we handle information from the website — pilot requests, emails you send us — see the website privacy page.

Everything stays on your device

When you use VeriWalk, your scans, photos, video, and notes are saved locally on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to us, backed up to our servers, or synced to any cloud. The record lives on your phone, under your control.

No accounts

There is no sign-up and no login. The app doesn't ask for an email, a password, a phone number, or any identity to work. You open it and you scan.

No data collected by the developer

We — the developer — do not collect any data from the app. That means:

  • No analytics. The app does not measure how you use it, count screens, or send usage statistics anywhere.
  • No tracking. There are no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, and nothing shared with data brokers or ad networks. The app does not track you across other apps or websites.
  • No account or contact data. Because there's no login, there's no profile, contact list, or account record on our side.

The app does use your device's location to sort scans by jobsite (see Location below), but that stays inside your records on your phone — it is not sent to us and not part of any collection, analytics, or tracking.

Camera and sensors

VeriWalk uses your iPhone's camera and LiDAR sensor to scan rooms and capture photos and video. iOS asks your permission before the app can use the camera. What the camera captures is written straight to your device as part of your scan — it isn't sent to us.

Photo positions inside the room

The app records where each photo sits inside the room you scanned — a position relative to the walls around it — so a report can show which part of which room a photo came from. These photo pins are room-relative scan geometry, not a street address or map coordinates. They come from the LiDAR scan and stay on your device with the rest of the record. This is separate from the jobsite location described next.

Location

When you take a scan, VeriWalk captures your device's GPS location and converts it to an approximate street address. It uses that address to organize your records by jobsite, so scans taken at the same site group together automatically instead of piling up in one list.

  • Only while you're using the app. VeriWalk requests when-in-use location only. It never reads your location in the background, and there is no always-on tracking.
  • Stored with the scan, on your device. The location is saved locally inside the scan record, shown on the report PDF, and included in record files you choose to export or share. It is not sent to us, and it is never used for tracking or advertising.
  • Optional. If you deny the location permission, the app still works. Scans just group by the name you give them, or land in an "Unfiled" group — you lose the automatic by-jobsite sorting, nothing else.

Data leaves only when you share it

The one time information moves off your phone is when you choose to move it — when you export a report or use the iOS share sheet to send a PDF by email, message, or another app. A shared report or record bundle carries the scan's details with it, including the jobsite location if you allowed it. At that point you're in control of where it goes and who receives it. The app never shares your data on its own.

Deleting the app

Because everything is stored locally, deleting VeriWalk removes your scans along with it. If you want to keep any records, export them before you delete the app. Exported files you've already saved elsewhere are not affected.

When cloud sync arrives

Looking ahead

We're building an optional cloud sync so crews can back up and share records across devices. When it ships, it will be opt-in — off unless you turn it on — and it will come with an updated version of this policy that spells out exactly what syncing stores and where. Until then, the app is local-only, as described above.

Children

VeriWalk is a tool for construction professionals and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. Material changes — like turning on cloud sync — will be reflected here before the feature reaches you.
